By the cross Jesus defeated evil powers and frees believers from fear, darkness and the burden of the past. The indwelling Holy Spirit enables continuing growth into Christ’s character through prayer, Scripture, worship, fellowship and mission. Loving service to people’s physical, mental, social and spiritual needs becomes part of this transformed life.
